Austin Walker isn't sure he wants to write about video games, for a living or even as a hobby, but he's doing it for now, anyway. He thinks years of cynicism and skepticism have made him a pretty decent critic, and a damn good elitist. But also he plays Dynasty Warriors. A lot.
Writing from Brooklyn, New York, Austin covers many Ivory Tower topics. His writing will include some familiar friends: games-as-art, cultural relevancy, narrative structure, the function and failure of censorship. He's especially concerned about the interaction between audience/player with the author/creator, and the understood, unspoken contract that connects the two.
In his spare time he reads a lot of books, listens to some music, and tries his best to reorganize that thing he calls a resume. His favorite beer is Ayinger Celebrator, his favorite cocktail is an Old Fashioned, and his favorite cut of steak is rib eye.
